Adding outlines and comments to standard PDF files can help you quickly find specific information, outline the content, and improve your learning efficiency. Outlines allow you to get an overview of the document and locate specific content accurately.
Method 1: Adding Outlines to Standard PDFs
If your document is a standard PDF, follow these steps to add outlines:
1. Open the PDF document.
2. Use your stylus or long-press with a single finger to select the text you want to add to the outline.
3. A dialog box will appear. In the dialog box, select "Add to Outline."
Method 2: Adding Outlines from the Page Overview
You can also add pages to the outline from the page overview in the following way:
1. In the note editing page, open the right sidebar and select "Page Overview."
2. Choose the page you want to add to the outline.
3. Click on the "More Options" menu and select "Add to Outline."
4. The selected page will be added to the outline.
Adding Outlines and Comments to Scanned/Paper-based PDFs or Handwritten Notes
For scanned/paper-based PDFs or handwritten notes where text cannot be directly selected, you can add outlines and comments as follows:
1. In the editing page, open the right sidebar.
2. In the page preview interface, click on the "..." button in the lower-left corner of the thumbnail to expand the action menu.
3. In the action menu, select "Add to Outline" or "Add Comment" to complete the addition. This method also applies to adding outlines and comments to handwritten notes.
How to Use Comments:
After adding comments, you can do the following in the editing page:
1. Open the top-left grid view to enter the tile view mode.
2. In the tile view mode, go to the comments page.
3. Long-press any comment page (or click the "Select" button in the top-right corner) to enter selection mode.
4. You can then choose to save the selected comment pages as a new document, copy them to other documents, export them as a PDF, move them out and paste them into other notes, or delete them.
Moving Comments:
Currently, comments cannot be moved. They are arranged in reverse chronological order based on the time of addition.
Batch Deletion of Comments:
You can find the "Clear Comments" button at the bottom of the comments list in the right sidebar. Click it and confirm to delete all comments.
Batch Deletion of Outlines:
You can find the "Clear Outlines" button at the bottom of the outlines list in the right sidebar. Click it and confirm to delete all outlines.
